Jump Special Anime Festa announces that Boruto joins lineup

It has been confirmed today in the 40th issue of Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that the Boruto manga series will be apart of the Jump Special Anime Festa for this year. It was not specified if the manga would get an event anime or not however. The manga which was released by Kodachi and Ikemoto in Weekly Shonen Jump on May 9th is a sequel of the Naruto series titled Boruto: Next Generations. This would start out as a movie which released on August 7th 2015 under the title Boruto: Naruto the Movie and would later get a single light novel volume on August 10th 2015 under the same title.

It should also be noted that the BS11 channel is also set to do a rerun of the anime series October, the animes website and Twitter will be announcing new information on this in the future. There will also be a new work video for Food Wars!, an original anime episode of My Hero Academia on November 27th which takes place between the first season and second season, an anime for Twin Star Exorcists however it was not stated if it was a new addition and screen the entirety of the Isobe Isobee Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~ “mame anime” which will feature a special video for the anime series. For those that attend the event you will receive a pamphlet, tote bag and three mini autograph boards for Black Clover, Food Wars! and My Hero Academia.

Mind you that the current Jump Special Anime Festa is set to be held in 5 cities on the dates November 27th and December 4th. On November 27th it will take place in the cities Sapporo’s Sapporo Cinema Frontier, Nagoya’s TOHO Cinemaas Nagoya Bay City, Osaka’s TOHO Cinemaas Umada Main Building and Nanba Main Building and for December 4th it will take place in Fukuoka’s TOHO Cinemas Tenji Main Building. Last years event in November featured Gintama, Haikyu!!, Word Trigger and Food Wars! had anime screenings at the event.The anime which first released as a manga on July 7th 2014 is still ongoing and its anime would later release starting on April 3rd 2016 and ending June 26th 2016 releasing 13 episodes in total. It should be noted that there is also a second season planned for the series. A plot summary can be seen below of the series quoted from MAL:

Boruto Uzumaki has inherited the mischievous spirit and endless energy from his famous father, the 7th Hokage, Naruto. As he enters his Chunin exams, a harsh decision made by Naruto angers Boruto, causing their personalities to clash, awakening a fierce ambition within the young shinobi to surpass his father with his own skills and techniques. But in order to do so, he will need the help of none other than Uchiha Sasuke, Naruto’s lifelong rival and childhood friend. Although Boruto has convinced himself that he has what it takes to surpass the 7th Hokage, he soon discovers that the road ahead is not nearly as simple as the young shinobi has envisioned.
Boruto: Naruto the Movie opens the doors for a new generation of shinobi to put their abilities to the test, as they face a mysterious enemy and hope to restore peace to Konoha, and the hardships within their own families. The 7th Hokage certainly has an impressive battle history behind him, but on this occasion, he will need the strong teamwork of old friends and new talents in order to win.
