The official website for Kizumonogatari has confirmed that the final film of the trilogy, Kizumonogatari III: Cold Blood will be releasing on January 6th 2017. A key visual for the upcoming film can also be seen above which is done by character designer Akio Watanabe. Mind you that the first film originally released in Japan on January 8th and this Friday the second film will be releasing in Japan as well. The first film would also be released in the US between February through March and starting August 28th it will release in four theaters in Canada, the second film is stated for a release in the US in October. Also Azoland Pictures will be distributing the film and a bonus giveaway item will be given to viewers while supplies last, tickets will be sold on the main website which can be seen in the following link:http://kizumonogatari-usa.com/theater.html. The film will be screening with Japanese audio and English subtitles as well.
The film series is a trilogy and started with the first film Kizumonogatari I: Blood and Iron which released January 8th in Japan and also released in the west, the second film Passionate Blood and the final film Cold Blood. The film is a prequel to the entirety of the series set before Bakemonogatari and the upcoming movie adapts source material from the Monogatari series first season light novel. The light novel would release 6 volumes between the dates of November 1st 2006 and July 28th 2010 and Vertical released the novel in English this year.
