The editor and chief of Shueisha’s Dash X Bunko imprint Shouchi Nagata has confirmed that the imprint is publishing a new spinoff volume for the Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! light novel series. The series creator Tomohiro Matsu passed away May 2nd and many messages and condolences came from fans and those involved in Matsu’s work. Nagata acknowledged these and said the editorial staff will be moving forward with Matsu’s wishes. This ties into the announcement made on Twitter which gave confirmation for the spinoff on January 22nd before Matsu’s passing which links to a grave illness shortly after the announcement. During his illness Matsu was said that he continued to write and left behind a manuscript about the series three grown up Takanashi sisters before he passed away. Later they received the manuscript and it was prepared for editing, Nagata confirmed that its planned for publication under the title “Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! after 1” on July 22nd. More details will soon follow and they have also asked for the patience of the fans.
The series itself began as a light novel series initially that released 18 total volumes between December 30th 2009 and ended March 25th 2015 releasing 18 total volumes. A manga adaption would later release 3 volumes between the dates of August 4th 2011 and ended October 19th 2012. An anime adaption for the series would later get its release January 11th 2012 and end March 28th 2012 and release 12 episodes, it would also receive a special and OVA as well.
